Chasing Bright Lights and Fairy Lit Nights

Last year, for the first time ever, we went to Dunham Massey for the Christmas light trail, and it was absolutely stunning. Way better than I honestly expected. The illuminated forest walks, twinkling lights, hot chocolate in hand under floating hot air balloons… it was pure December magic.

This year, the TravelChickFrom76 is on a mission to discover what other Christmas light trails in Cheshire are worth braving the cold for, and there are plenty to choose from.

I’ve linked to all the ticketing sites for information, I am not affiliated to any.

Christmas Light Trails Cheshire

From glowing animal lanterns to elegant gardens bathed in colour, Cheshire and the North West are spoilt for choice when it comes to Christmas light experiences and I’ve been looking at all the websites! Whether you’re planning a family day out, a romantic evening, or just a festive walk to lift your mood, these trails are some of the best seasonal events in the region.

🎄Lanterns and Light at Chester Zoo – I’ve seen this come round every year, I’ve got friends who’ve been, it’s on my list.

🎄Northern Lights Manchester at Heaton Park – This looks super impressive, bit of a long trek from here but if I’m in that area I’ll try to take it in.

🎄RHS Glow at RHS Bridgwater –The YouTube clip on their page looks amazing, similar vibes to Dunham Massey for me.

Festive Days Out Across Cheshire and Beyond

If you’re hunting for something more stately then Yuletide at Tatton Park looks like it has a whole bunch of performances going on the gardens and trails.

Meanwhile, The Twilight Trail in Mayfield Park is apparently fairly new and urban being smack in the centre of Manchester city

Many of these trails apparently sell out early so it’s worth booking soon and checking for dog-friendly or late-night slots if you like to wrap up, wander, and make an evening of it.

My Pick?

I’m still deciding which one to visit this year, its going to be a tough call and that’s not an exhaustive list.

I’ll share whichever trail we choose over on Instagram and here on the blog, so come say “Hi” and tell me which one you’re heading to. Maybe we’ll bump into each other beneath the fairy lights.
